The Rosenwald building also known as the Michigan Boulevard Garden Apartments is fading fast. The 421-unit, five-story walk-up was the longtime dream of philanthropist and Sears, Roebuck and Co. President Julius Rosenwald. The complex was built in 1929 as affordable housing for African American families in Chicago.
